Troop 1325 Volunteers at Swim Meet

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, Scouts from Troop 1325 volunteered at a swim meet at Darnestown Swim & Racquet Club. The older Scouts served as timers for the meet while the younger Scouts assisted with setup, concessions, and clean up. All the Scouts attended meetings with officials or timers before the meet to understand the rules and they also observed the officials during the meet as part of their requirements for the Athletics merit badge. The troop thanks the Germantown and Darnestown Swim Teams for allowing the Scouts to attend and volunteer.

Troop 1325 Participates in Radio Merit Badge Event

On June 28, 2025, Scouts and parents from Troop 1325 spent the day at the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department Activities Center earning the Radio Merit Badge with the Montgomery County Amateur Radio Club. This event was coordinated by the Rockville Science Center.

Troop 1325 Attends Innovations in Flight Exhibit at Air & Space Museum

On Saturday, June 14th Scouts from Troop 1325 and their families went to the Udvar-Hazy Center of the National Air & Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia. They attended a special event called Innovations in Flight that brought in a number of World War II era planes to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the war. Some of the Scouts were trained on the pre-flight safety check on a B-29. Scouts were also able to go inside a NOAA airplane that flies into hurricanes and learn about the equipment used to assess hurricanes.

Scouts and leaders from Troop 1325 participated in a Bridging Ceremony with Cub Scout Pack 1199 on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Troop 1325 and Troop 928 both welcomed new Scouts into their troops at the event.

Troop 1325 Held a Court of Honor on April 23, 2025

Troop 1325 swore in their new patrol leaders and celebrated rank advancements and merit badge completions at a Court of Honor on April 23, 2025. Afterwards, Scouts, leaders and families enjoyed refreshments.

On Monday, April 14, 2025, Scout families traveled to Washington, DC, to do a tour of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The Scouts learned about the history of the Bureau as well as saw how paper currency is made.

Troop 1325 Hike at Little Bennett Regional Park

Scouts and Leaders from Troop 1325 enjoyed a five-mile morning hike at Little Bennett Regional Park in Clarksburg, Maryland, on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The Scouts were completing a hiking requirement for the Second Class rank. They practiced their orienteering skills and also identified signs of wildlife in the park.
