About Troop 1325

A TROOP RUN BY SCOUTS, FOR SCOUTS

Throughout the year, Scouts work on rank advancement requirements and merit badges. Rank requirements are listed and documented in the Scout Handbook. Merit badges can be earned with the troop, at summer camp, or at local merit badge classes around the Washington, DC, area. Our troop has had 52 Scouts reach the rank of Eagle Scout since its original charter in 2012.

Troop 1325 is part of the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of Scouting America. Our charter organization is the Rockville Science Center, 36C Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, 20850.

Being a Scout is special. The premier leadership program, Scouting is one of the few organizations for youth where the adults are not “in charge.”

Troop 1325 has made this the cornerstone of the Scout experience. Our scouts manage and control all aspects of troop operations from running meetings to meal planning. Our adult leaders provide guidance to the scout leadership so that they can safely accomplish the goals they have set for themselves and the Troop.

Troop 1325 includes scouts from communities in and near Germantown, Maryland. Members can join as early as the spring of 5th grade (age 11) and can participate until the age of 18.

The troop meets on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 13700 Schaeffer Road, Germantown, Maryland, 20874. Scouts and leaders plan additional activities throughout the year. These activities include hiking trips, campouts, service projects, sporting events, and trips to local museums/historical sites.
