Where do scouts come from?
Troop 1325 draws from many local communities. You need not attend one of these schools, but please be aware that most meetings happen in the greater Germantown area. Some schools from which we draw are: Kingsview Middle School, Roberto Clemente Middle School, Northwest High School and Seneca Valley High School.
When are meetings and activities?
Troop 1325 has weekly troop meetings at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 13700 Schaeffer Rd, Germantown, Maryland. Meetings are on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm. Courts of Honor are held a few times each year during a Wednesday evening meeting.
Additional outdoor, local, and service activities are planned throughout the year. The troop aims to offer at least one weekend activity each month. These activities can include hiking, camping, service projects, and visits to local sites.
All parents/guardians can attend committee meetings which typically occur the first Wednesday of each month at 7:15 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church.
How are parents involved?
We encourage parents to be involved in all aspects of their scout's participation. Parents are welcome to observe weekly troop meetings, assume adult leadership roles within the troop, serve on our committee, and/or volunteer at specific events.
What supplies and equipment are needed to participate in Scouting?
Each participant in Scouting will need to purchase a Scout Uniform and handbook.
You can purchase a Class A uniform and handbook at the Scout Shop located at 9190 Rockville Pike in Bethesda, Maryland. The troop will provide new scouts with a neckerchief and slide. Scouts should wear Class A uniforms to all meetings and formal events as well as when traveling. Class B uniforms can be purchased directly from the troop.
For camping, each scout should have a sleeping bag, water bottle and mess kit. The troop has other equipment such as tents, stoves, and lanterns that scouts can use on camping trips.
